Conference Overview
The 2025 International Conference on Passive Green Buildings (ICPGB 2025), also serving as the 2025 Annual Conference of Sichuan Provincial Society of Architects, is a major talent event in the Science and Technology City sponsored by the Mianyang Municipal Government. The conference is jointly organized by Southwest University of Science and Technology, Sichuan Provincial Society of Architects, and Chongqing University, and will be hosted by the School of Civil Engineering and Architecture at Southwest University of Science and Technology from April 25-27, 2025, in Mianyang, China.
Passive green building is a concept and method that, through its inherent design, fully utilizes natural resources and renewable energy to minimize energy consumption. Against the backdrop of global climate change and the “dual carbon” strategy, this concept is increasingly recognized as a core approach to achieving sustainable development in the building sector. Passive green buildings achieve low-energy operation by optimizing spatial layout, enhancing envelope structures, and carefully selecting materials and construction designs, while fully utilizing solar energy, natural ventilation, and lighting technologies, embodying the harmony between buildings and the environment. This design process is a systematic project that requires comprehensive consideration of multiple factors including climate characteristics, functional requirements, quality standards, technical means, economic investment, resource allocation, environmental control, and humanistic care. With the integration of active and intelligent technologies, future passive green buildings will demonstrate greater potential in energy conservation, environmental protection, and living comfort, propelling the construction industry towards a greener, smarter, and more sustainable future.
This conference aims to provide a platform for experts, scholars, engineers, and researchers in the fields of architectural design, building energy efficiency, green buildings, and building environment and energy applications. It offers an opportunity to share research achievements and cutting-edge technologies, understand academic trends, broaden research perspectives, strengthen academic research and discussion, and promote the industrialization of academic achievements.
Call for Papers
The conference accepts extended abstracts and full papers in both Chinese and English. Accepted extended abstracts will be scheduled for oral presentations. Accepted full papers will be arranged for oral presentations and published in the English conference proceedings by IOS Press, which will be submitted for indexing in EI Compendex, Scopus, and other databases. Outstanding papers will have the opportunity to be recommended for publication in the “journal of Building Energy Efficiency” (ISSN: 2096-9422, a T3-level journal in the field of architectural science, and a journal of The key magazine of China technology).

- 2. Keynote Speaker: Apply for a keynote speech, subject to committee review
- 3. Oral Presentation: Apply for a 15-minute oral presentation
- 4. Poster Presentation: Apply for poster display, A1 size
- 5. Audience Participation: Attend without paper submission

Note: At least one author of each accepted paper must complete registration and pay the registration fee. Publication fees are not included in the registration fee. Attendance qualifies for elective continuing education credits for Sichuan Registered Architects. Members or directors of the Sichuan Provincial Society of Architects can register through the secretariat of the Sichuan Provincial Society of Architects.
